Here's the gist with Addyi (flibanserin) and corydalis. Flibanserin already tends to make people drowsy, and it can lower your blood pressure or make you feel faint, especially when you stand up. Corydalis is thought to have its own mild calming, sedative-type effect from natural compounds it contains. Put the two together and you could feel sleepier, more lightheaded, or more groggy than usual.

I'll be honest with you: this concern is theoretical, based on how corydalis behaves in lab and animal studies, not on solid human research. So it isn't a high-alarm situation. Still, since flibanserin's dizziness and fainting risk is real, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and don't combine either one with alcohol.

Here's the thing to know about Addyi (flibanserin): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down and clear it out. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest can mildly slow that same enzyme. If it does, flibanserin could clear more slowly and build up a bit higher than expected.

For flibanserin, that's worth respecting because it already carries real risks of low blood pressure, dizziness, and fainting, especially when you stand up or combine it with alcohol. Higher levels could make that drowsiness and lightheadedness worse. To be fair, this concern is theoretical and based on how the herb behaves in the lab, not proven in people. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

What Is Flibanserin Used For?

Brand name: Addyi

Addyi is approved to treat acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) — a condition where low sexual desire causes significant distress or relationship difficulty — in women under 65. "Acquired" means the low desire developed after a period of normal desire; "generalized" means it happens regardless of the situation or partner.

Addyi is not intended for use in men, and it is not a sexual performance enhancer. It is also not meant for HSDD that is caused by a medical condition, a psychiatric condition, relationship problems, or another medication.
