Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Preliminary clinical research shows that berberine can inhibit CYP2C9. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2C9.

Here's the gist for gliclazide: your liver clears it using an enzyme called CYP2C9. Corydalis (which can contain berberine) may slow that enzyme down. If it does, more gliclazide can hang around in your blood than usual, and gliclazide is a medicine that lowers blood sugar. So the realistic worry is your sugar dropping too low, which can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, hunger, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I'll be honest though, this one is theoretical. It's based on how the herb behaves in lab and early studies, not on solid human evidence with gliclazide itself. Still, since low blood sugar is no fun, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and keep an eye on your readings.

Gliclazide is a sulfonylurea that works by pushing your pancreas to release more insulin, so its main job is to bring blood sugar down. Here's the thing to keep in mind: Corydalis yanhusuo may also nudge blood sugar lower on its own (it can contain berberine, which has shown blood-sugar-lowering effects in studies). Stack the two together and there's a chance your blood sugar could drop further than you'd expect.

If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, irritable, or unusually hungry, all classic signs of a low. I want to be straight with you, though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than solid human studies pairing them. Don't change your gliclazide on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your readings if you do use both.
