Glutethimide is an older sedative (a sleep and calming medication) that already slows down your central nervous system. Corydalis yanhusuo contains natural compounds, including berberine, that animal studies suggest may have their own calming, sedative effect. So if you take them together, the worry is simple: the two may add up and make you more drowsy than expected.

In real terms, that could mean extra sleepiness, dizziness, slowed thinking, or feeling unsteady on your feet. I want to be honest though, this interaction is theoretical, based on how these things work in the lab and in animals, not proven in people. Still, since glutethimide is a strong sedative, it's worth playing it safe. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
