Here's the simple version: both of these slow down your brain and nervous system. Glutethimide (Doriden) is an older sleep medicine that's a heavy sedative on its own, and GHB is a powerful depressant too. Put them together and the calming effects don't just add up, they can stack in a dangerous way. We're talking deep drowsiness, confusion, slowed or shallow breathing, and the real risk of slipping into unconsciousness or coma.

This warning is rated as a major, likely problem, though the proof comes mostly from real-world case reports rather than formal studies. Even so, the danger here is serious enough that I wouldn't take chances. Please don't combine these without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.

What is Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (ghb)?

  • Alcohol withdrawal (in some countries)

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
