Regorafenib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.

Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical research show that berberine moderately inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP3A4.

Here's the gist for Stivarga (regorafenib): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break this cancer drug down. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest can moderately slow that same enzyme. If CYP3A4 is slowed, regorafenib could clear more slowly and build up in your blood, potentially making its side effects stronger. With this drug that can mean things like more fatigue, high blood pressure, diarrhea, hand-foot skin reactions (sore, peeling palms and soles), or liver-related problems.

I want to be honest about how strong this concern is: it's theoretical, based on how these compounds behave, not on solid human trials with regorafenib itself. Still, with a serious cancer medicine like this, I'd play it safe. Please run any Corydalis product by your oncologist or pharmacist before starting it.

What Is Regorafenib Used For?

Brand name: Stivarga

Stivarga is approved to treat three types of advanced cancer in adults. It is used for metastatic colorectal cancer (cancer that has spread) after prior chemotherapy and targeted therapy; for locally advanced, unresectable, or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) after two previous treatments; and for hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) after treatment with sorafenib.

All three uses are specific to Stivarga tablets taken by mouth. It is intended for patients whose cancer has progressed despite earlier lines of therapy.
