Here's the gist for Tolterodine (Detrol): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear this medication. Corydalis yanhusuo may contain compounds, including berberine, that can slow that same enzyme down. If the enzyme works slower, more tolterodine could linger in your system, which can nudge its usual side effects up a notch. Think dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, drowsiness, or a faster heartbeat.

I want to be honest though: this concern is theoretical, based on lab studies and the herb's chemistry, not on solid human data with tolterodine. So I wouldn't panic. Still, before you pair these two, run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on how you're feeling.

Here's the gist with tolterodine (Detrol). Your body clears this medication partly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest can slow that same enzyme down. If the enzyme works slower, tolterodine may not get cleared as quickly and could build up a bit higher than usual.

In plain terms, that could mean stronger antimuscarinic side effects, things like dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, dizziness, or a faster heartbeat. I want to stress this is mostly theoretical, based on how these compounds behave, not proven in real-world use. Still, before combining them, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor so they can weigh it for you.

Tolterodine — available as tablets (including Detrol and Tolterodine Tartrate tablets) and extended-release capsules (including Detrol LA and Tolterodine Tartrate extended-release capsules) — is prescribed for overactive bladder. It targets three main symptoms: a sudden, hard-to-control urge to urinate (urgency), urinating too often (frequency), and leaking urine when that urge hits (urge urinary incontinence).
