Here's the gist for trazodone and corydalis. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 as one way to clear trazodone. Corydalis contains compounds (including berberine) that may slow that enzyme down. If it does, trazodone could clear a little slower and build up in your system, which can mean stronger effects than expected, things like extra drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, or feeling lightheaded when you stand up.

The important part: this is a theoretical concern based on lab and early data, not solid human studies, so it may never amount to much. Still, since both can make you sleepy, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them. Don't change your trazodone on your own.

Here's the short version: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear trazodone out of your system. Corydalis contains berberine, which may slow that same enzyme down a bit. If trazodone breaks down more slowly, more of it can hang around in your blood, which could make its usual effects stronger.

For trazodone, that might mean extra drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or a dry mouth. The good news is this concern is theoretical, based mostly on lab studies rather than real-world reports, so it may never cause a noticeable problem. Still, since both can be sedating, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you already feel sleepy on trazodone.
