Nortriptyline falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Datura Wrightii interacts with.

Datura wrightii contains atropine and scopolamine, as well as other tropane alkaloids with anticholinergic activity. Concomitant use of Datura wrightii with anticholinergic drugs might increase anticholinergic effects and adverse effects. Some anticholinergic drugs include amantadine, atropine, belladonna alkaloids, phenothiazines, scopolamine, and tricyclic antidepressants.

Here's the simple version: nortriptyline already carries its own drying, anticholinergic effects, which is why people on it often notice a dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, trouble urinating, or a faster heartbeat. Datura wrightii is loaded with atropine and scopolamine, which block the very same nervous-system signals. Stack the two together and you're essentially doubling down, so those side effects could get noticeably worse, and in the extreme you could see confusion, agitation, or even hallucinations.

This particular warning is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than hard studies, but the bigger issue is that Datura is genuinely poisonous and we'd never recommend it. Please don't change your nortriptyline on your own. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor first.
