Lofepramine falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Datura Wrightii interacts with.

Datura wrightii contains atropine and scopolamine, as well as other tropane alkaloids with anticholinergic activity. Concomitant use of Datura wrightii with anticholinergic drugs might increase anticholinergic effects and adverse effects. Some anticholinergic drugs include amantadine, atropine, belladonna alkaloids, phenothiazines, scopolamine, and tricyclic antidepressants.

Lofepramine is a tricyclic antidepressant, and one thing tricyclics already do is produce anticholinergic effects on their own. That means dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, trouble urinating, a faster heartbeat, and sometimes confusion, especially in older folks. Datura wrightii is packed with atropine and scopolamine, which block the very same acetylcholine system. So stacking the two would basically pile one anticholinergic load on top of another.

The result could be those side effects turning up louder, and at worst, agitation, hallucinations, or a dangerously racing heart. Honestly, Datura is poisonous and we'd never recommend it at all. If you're taking Lofepramine, please skip it and chat with your pharmacist or doctor about anything you're considering.
