Levobupivacaine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Diindolylmethane interacts with.

Theoretically, diindolylmethane might lower serum levels of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro evidence suggests that diindolylmethane can induce CYP1A2. Theoretically, it might increase metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates and lower serum concentrations. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the situation with DIM and levobupivacaine (Chirocaine). Levobupivacaine is a local anesthetic that your liver partly clears using an enzyme called CYP1A2. In test-tube studies, DIM seems to speed up that enzyme. In theory, a faster enzyme could break down levobupivacaine a little quicker and lower its levels, which might mean slightly less or shorter numbing effect.

The good news: this is purely theoretical, based only on lab work, and has never actually been seen in people. On top of that, levobupivacaine is usually given by a doctor as a one-time injection for surgery or pain control, so a daily supplement isn't likely to matter much. Still, mention any supplements you take to your care team before a procedure.
