Here's the simple version. Torsemide is a 'water pill' that makes your kidneys flush out extra water and salt, including sodium. One known risk with any loop diuretic like this is that your blood sodium can drop too low, a condition called hyponatremia. In higher-dose research (around 600 mg a day), DIM was linked to two cases of low sodium on its own, so the worry is that adding it to Torsemide could nudge your sodium down a bit more.

To be fair, this is mostly a theoretical concern and the evidence is limited. But low sodium can cause headaches, nausea, muscle cramps, confusion, or feeling unusually tired and weak. If you take Torsemide and are thinking about DIM, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and don't change either one on your own.

What Is Torsemide Used For?

Brand names: Demadex, Soaanz

Torsemide tablets are used to treat edema — excess fluid buildup causing swelling — associated with heart failure, renal disease, or hepatic disease. Removing that extra fluid can relieve swelling and make breathing easier.

Torsemide tablets are also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medications.
