Here is the basic idea. Alefacept (Amevive) is a biologic that works by quieting down part of your immune system. It was used mainly for plaque psoriasis. Fermented wheat germ extract, on the other hand, has been shown in lab and animal studies to stimulate the immune system. So you can see the tug-of-war here: one is trying to calm immune activity while the other may rev it up.

In theory, the supplement could blunt how well Alefacept controls your condition, meaning your psoriasis might not clear as nicely. I want to be clear though, this concern comes only from animal data and the way these products work, not from human studies, so it is more of a caution than a proven problem. Please loop in your dermatologist or pharmacist before adding it.
