Goji + Buspirone
Buspirone brand name: BuSpar.
Goji has a moderate interaction with Buspirone. Theoretically, goji berry might inhibit CYP3A4 and reduce metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Buspirone
Buspirone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Goji interacts with.
In vitro research shows that goji berry juice inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Concomitant use with goji may decrease metabolism and increase levels of CYP3A4 substrates. However, this has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear buspirone out of your system. Lab studies hint that goji (specifically goji juice) may slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in real life, more buspirone could linger in your blood, which might make you feel drowsier, lightheaded, dizzy, or a little nauseated than usual.
I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. So far this is only seen in test-tube research, not in actual people, so it's a theoretical concern. Eating goji berries as a snack is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated goji extracts or large amounts of juice are where I'd be more cautious. If you take buspirone regularly, just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a goji supplement.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Buspirone page
“I counsel genuine caution when supplements meet buspirone (BuSpar), the anxiety medication, because four of its 155 documented interactions are rated major. The bulk of the list, 121 ingredients, changes how your liver clears buspirone through the CYP3A4 enzyme, pushing its level up toward dizziness and drowsiness or down until the anx…”

- General antioxidant support
- Eye health
- Immune support
- Anti-aging and well-being
- Blood sugar support
Goji berries are a nutritious fruit rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and plant polysaccharides, and they are safe for most people as a food. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated goji supplements, especially if you take medications or are pregnant.
About Buspirone
What Is Buspirone Used For?
Brand name: BuSpar
Buspirone tablets and capsules are used to manage anxiety disorders or to relieve anxiety symptoms in the short term. Its effectiveness has been shown in clinical trials focused on Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) — a condition marked by persistent, hard-to-control worry along with physical symptoms like muscle tension, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, and sleep problems.
Buspirone has also been shown to relieve anxiety in people who have mild depressive symptoms alongside their anxiety. Everyday stress and tension, on their own, generally do not require treatment with a medicine like buspirone.
