Celecoxib, Tramadol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Goji interacts with.
In vitro research shows that goji berry juice inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. Concomitant use with goji may decrease metabolism and increase levels of CYP2D6 substrates. However, this has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's something worth knowing about Seglentis, the combo pill of celecoxib and tramadol. The tramadol part is actually a prodrug, meaning your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to turn it into the form that relieves pain. Lab studies suggest goji berry might slow that same enzyme down. If that happened, you could end up with less pain relief from the tramadol side of things, since your body would convert less of it.
The flip side is that the parent tramadol can build up, which may add to side effects like nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, or constipation. That said, this is only a theoretical, test-tube finding and has never been seen in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Everyday goji as a food is unlikely to matter. If you use concentrated goji supplements regularly, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
2 of 3Celecoxib, Tramadol also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES.
In vitro research shows that goji berry tincture and juice inhibit CYP2C9 enzymes. Additionally, multiple case reports suggest that goji berry concentrated tea and juice inhibit the metabolism of warfarin, a CYP2C9 substrate. Concomitant use with goji may decrease metabolism and increase levels of CYP2C9 substrates.

Seglentis pairs celecoxib (an anti-inflammatory) with tramadol (a pain reliever). The celecoxib part is cleared mainly by a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. Goji berry may gently slow that enzyme down, so in theory celecoxib could build up a bit and hang around longer in your body. That might mean more of the usual celecoxib side effects, like stomach upset, fluid retention, raised blood pressure, or kidney strain.
Here's the honest part: this is mostly theoretical and based on lab studies plus a few case reports with warfarin, not strong human data. Everyday culinary amounts of goji likely matter little. Concentrated goji juice, tea, or supplements are the bigger question. Before combining them, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.

In vitro research shows that goji berry juice inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Concomitant use with goji may decrease metabolism and increase levels of CYP3A4 substrates. However, this has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combo pill (Seglentis) pairs celecoxib, an anti-inflammatory, with tramadol for pain. Both lean on the liver enzyme CYP3A4 to get cleared. In lab studies, goji juice can slow that enzyme down a bit, which in theory could let these drugs build up slightly and hit harder.
If that happened, you might notice more celecoxib-type effects like stomach upset, fluid retention, or higher blood pressure, plus more tramadol effects like drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, or constipation. One thing worth knowing: tramadol is partly a prodrug, so its pain relief actually depends on a different enzyme (CYP2D6), not CYP3A4. Honestly, this is only theoretical and hasn't shown up in real people, and a few berries in your diet is unlikely to matter. Still, check with your pharmacist before using concentrated goji supplements.
