Here's the gist for Vumerity (diroximel fumarate): on its own, this MS medicine can occasionally stress the liver, which is why your doctor usually checks your liver bloodwork before you start and along the way. Drinking green tea as a beverage isn't the concern here. The worry is with concentrated green tea extract supplements, which have been tied to rare cases of liver injury.

The thinking is that two things that can both bother the liver might add up. To be honest, this is mostly theoretical and based on scattered reports, so it's considered unlikely. Still, watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. If you're considering a green tea extract pill, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
