Here's the simple version: both of these can be hard on your liver in some people. Interferon gamma-1b (Actimmune) can sometimes raise liver enzymes or cause liver irritation on its own. Concentrated green tea extract supplements have been tied to rare cases of liver injury too. The worry is that stacking them might add up and put a little extra strain on your liver.

I want to keep this in perspective. This concern is mostly theoretical and based on scattered case reports, so it's considered unlikely. Drinking green tea as a normal beverage is a different matter than taking high-dose extract capsules. Still, before adding any green tea supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor, and watch for yellowing skin, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness.

What Is Interferon Gamma-1b Injection Used For?

Brand name: Actimmune

Actimmune (interferon gamma-1b) is approved for two specific inherited conditions. First, it reduces how often and how severely serious infections occur in people with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) — a rare inherited disorder where certain immune cells can't fight off infections properly.

Second, Actimmune is used to delay disease progression in patients with severe, malignant osteopetrosis (SMO) — a rare inherited bone disorder where bones become abnormally dense and the immune system doesn't work as it should.
