Triflupromazine falls under PHENOTHIAZINES — the group Green Tea interacts with.

Theoretically, phenothiazines might increase the levels and adverse effects of caffeine.
Green tea contains caffeine. Phenothiazines can reduce the metabolism of caffeine by inhibiting cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2).

Here's something a little different about this pairing. The concern isn't that green tea changes how triflupromazine (Vesprin) works. It's the other way around. Triflupromazine can mildly slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which is the same enzyme that clears the caffeine found in green tea. So the caffeine may hang around longer and feel stronger.

In practice, that might mean more jitteriness, a faster heartbeat, or trouble sleeping if you drink a lot of caffeinated green tea. Keep in mind this is rated as minor and is based only on lab-type evidence, so for most people enjoying a normal cup or two, it's unlikely to be a big deal. If you notice you feel wired or restless, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.
