Ibrexafungerp Citrate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hibiscus Sabdariffa interacts with.

Theoretically, Hibiscus sabdariffa extract might reduce the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx extract inhibits CYP3A4. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down ibrexafungerp (Brexafemme). In a test tube, hibiscus extract has been shown to slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in real life, your body might clear the medication a little slower, leaving more of it in your system. With ibrexafungerp, that could mean a bit more chance of its usual side effects, like nausea, diarrhea, stomach upset, or dizziness.

Here's the reassuring part: this is only a theory based on lab work, and it has never actually been reported in people. A cup of tart hibiscus tea is very unlikely to matter, and ibrexafungerp is a short course anyway. Still, if you take concentrated hibiscus supplements, it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor.
