Golimumab falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ipriflavone interacts with.

Concurrent use of ipriflavone and immunosuppressant drugs might have additive effects on inhibiting immune function. Some patients taking ipriflavone experience subclinical lymphocytopenia; avoid concurrent use. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), and other corticosteroids (glucocorticoids).

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pair. Golimumab (Simponi, Simponi Aria) is already a powerful immune-calming medicine. It blocks part of your immune system (TNF) to ease joint pain and swelling. Ipriflavone can also nudge your immune system down a bit, and in some people it has quietly lowered white blood cell counts (lymphocytes). Stacking the two could add up and leave you more open to infections.

What that might look like with golimumab is more frequent colds, sore throats, fevers, or infections that linger longer than usual. The concern here is mainly about overlapping immune effects, not about one drug speeding up or slowing down the other. Since ipriflavone hasn't proven it helps bones much anyway, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Ipriflavone is a synthetic isoflavone studied mainly for bone health and osteoporosis, but high-quality research has not shown that it reliably prevents fractures or builds strong bone. What Is Golimumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Simponi Aria

Golimumab injection is used to treat several inflammatory conditions. Simponi (subcutaneous) is approved for adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (in combination with methotrexate), active psoriatic arthritis, active ankylosing spondylitis, and moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adults and pediatric patients weighing at least 15 kg.

Simponi Aria (intravenous) is used for adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis. Both products target the same inflammation pathway but are given by different routes and are each approved for specific conditions — they are not interchangeable across all uses.
