Temsirolimus falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ipriflavone interacts with.

Concurrent use of ipriflavone and immunosuppressant drugs might have additive effects on inhibiting immune function. Some patients taking ipriflavone experience subclinical lymphocytopenia; avoid concurrent use. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), and other corticosteroids (glucocorticoids).

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pairing. Temsirolimus already lowers your immune defenses as part of how it treats kidney cancer, and it can drop your white blood cell counts on its own. Ipriflavone has been linked to a quiet dip in lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) in some people. Put the two together and those effects can stack up, leaving you more open to infections or making low blood counts harder to manage.

This isn't about ipriflavone changing how your body processes the drug, it's about both pushing your immune system in the same direction. Because temsirolimus is a serious cancer medicine that's closely monitored, please don't add ipriflavone without checking with your oncology team or pharmacist first.
