Chlorpropamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Jambolan interacts with.

Animal research shows that jambolan seed and bark extracts can lower blood glucose levels. Theoretically, jambolan might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. This might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in some patients. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: chlorpropamide already lowers your blood sugar by pushing your pancreas to release more insulin. Jambolan, especially in concentrated seed or bark extracts, may nudge your blood sugar down too. Put them together and those effects can stack, which could leave your levels lower than you intended.

If your sugar drops too far, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or unusually hungry. Chlorpropamide is also long-acting, so a low can linger. I'll be honest, this concern comes mostly from animal studies, not solid human trials, so it's more of a watch-closely situation than a red alert. Eating the fruit as food is unlikely to be a problem. Before adding a supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep monitoring your blood sugar.
