Diclofenac Sodium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Jambolan interacts with.

There is some in vitro evidence that jambolan can inhibit CYP2C9. Theoretically, concomitant use of jambolan with CYP2C9 substrates may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.

Here's the simple version: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to clear diclofenac. In lab studies, jambolan appears to slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in real life, diclofenac could linger longer in your system and act a little stronger than expected.

For an anti-inflammatory like diclofenac, more drug means a higher chance of the usual side effects, things like stomach upset, heartburn, an increased risk of stomach bleeding, or fluid retention and higher blood pressure. The important part: this is only based on test-tube research, not on people, so it may not matter much in practice. Eating the fruit is unlikely to be an issue. If you're considering a concentrated jambolan supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Diclofenac sodium topical gel is used to treat actinic keratoses (AK) — rough, scaly skin patches that form after years of sun exposure. These patches are considered precancerous, meaning they can develop into skin cancer if left untreated.

This is a topical gel, meaning it is applied directly to the skin over the affected area rather than taken by mouth. It belongs to the NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) family.
