Here's the piece worth knowing: this combo product contains aspirin, and aspirin already thins your blood by keeping platelets from clumping together. Jiaogulan may do something similar. In lab studies, its plant compounds (gypenosides) seem to make platelets less sticky too. Stack that on top of aspirin and, in theory, you could bruise more easily or bleed a little longer from cuts, your gums, or your nose.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. The concern comes from test-tube and animal research, not real-world human cases, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. The caffeine and codeine parts aren't the issue here. Before you add jiaogulan, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you bleed easily or take it daily.
