Ammonium Chloride falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Khat interacts with.

Human research shows that khat and its constituent, cathinone, can increase blood pressure. Theoretically, khat might reduce the effect of antihypertensive drug therapy. Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Here's a bit of a wrinkle with your question. Ammonium chloride is grouped under blood pressure medicines in our database, but it isn't really a typical antihypertensive. It's mostly used to make the urine more acidic or to correct certain salt and acid imbalances in the body. So the classic concern, that khat's stimulant chemicals (cathinone and cathine) can push blood pressure up and work against your blood pressure drug, doesn't map cleanly onto ammonium chloride.

That said, khat itself is illegal in the U.S. and genuinely risky for your heart and blood pressure. The honest answer here is that I'm not confident about a meaningful interaction between these two specifically. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor so they can look at your full situation.
