Magnesium + Dalteparin
Dalteparin brand name: Fragmin.
Magnesium has a minor interaction with Dalteparin. Theoretically, magnesium may have antiplatelet effects, but the evidence is conflicting.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Dalteparin
Dalteparin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Magnesium interacts with.
In vitro evidence shows that magnesium sulfate inhibits platelet aggregation, even at low concentrations. Some preliminary clinical evidence shows that infusion of magnesium sulfate increases bleeding time by 48% and reduces platelet activity. However, other clinical research shows that magnesium does not affect platelet aggregation, although inhibition of platelet-dependent thrombosis can occur.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Dalteparin (Fragmin) is an injectable blood thinner that lowers your blood's ability to form clots. The thought here is that magnesium might have its own mild blood-thinning, or antiplatelet, action. If that's true, adding it on top of dalteparin could in theory nudge your bleeding risk up a little. Real-world signs to watch for would be easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop.
The good news is that this is a minor and unlikely concern. The evidence is mixed and pretty weak, with some studies showing an effect and others showing none. Everyday magnesium for things like a deficiency or constipation isn't likely to cause trouble. Still, since dalteparin already thins your blood, it's worth telling your pharmacist or doctor before you start a magnesium supplement.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dalteparin page
“Dalteparin (Fragmin) is an injectable blood thinner used to prevent and treat dangerous clots, which is exactly why this list warrants real vigilance, and nearly all 218 ingredients on it thin the blood too. They are herbs and extracts with clot-inhibiting or antiplatelet effects of their own, so stacking them on dalteparin can push bl…”

About Magnesium
What is Magnesium?
- Preventing or treating magnesium deficiency
- Constipation
- Muscle cramps
- Sleep support
- Anxiety and stress
- Migraine prevention
Magnesium is an essential mineral your body needs for muscles, nerves, blood pressure, and many other functions, and supplements are useful for preventing or correcting deficiency. Some other uses, like easing constipation or preventing migraines, have reasonable support, while uses for sleep and anxiety are less proven. It is generally safe for most healthy people at recommended amounts, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you have kidney problems.
About Dalteparin Injection
What Is Dalteparin Injection Used For?
Brand name: Fragmin
Fragmin is used to prevent clot-related problems in several situations. These include unstable angina and non-Q-wave heart attack (taken with aspirin), and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after hip or abdominal surgery or during an acute illness that severely limits movement.
It is also used to treat symptomatic venous thromboembolism (VTE, a clot in a vein) and lower the chance it comes back. This applies to adults with cancer and to children from birth (gestational age at least 35 weeks). Fragmin is not indicated for the acute treatment of VTE.

Dalteparin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Dalteparin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Magnesium — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
