Tivozanib Hydrochloride falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Magnesium interacts with.

Theoretically, magnesium may have antiplatelet effects, but the evidence is conflicting.
In vitro evidence shows that magnesium sulfate inhibits platelet aggregation, even at low concentrations. Some preliminary clinical evidence shows that infusion of magnesium sulfate increases bleeding time by 48% and reduces platelet activity. However, other clinical research shows that magnesium does not affect platelet aggregation, although inhibition of platelet-dependent thrombosis can occur.

Here's the honest picture for these two together. The interaction on file isn't really about how your body processes Fotivda (tivozanib). Instead, it points to a theory that magnesium might mildly thin the blood by making platelets a little less sticky. The catch is the evidence is weak and conflicting, so this is mostly a lab-and-theory concern, not something proven in everyday patients.

Why mention it at all? Tivozanib itself can raise blood pressure and, in some people, increase bleeding risk. So in theory, adding magnesium could nudge bleeding risk slightly, watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums. Practically, this is rated minor and unlikely. Still, since you're on cancer therapy, please run any magnesium supplement past your oncology team or pharmacist first.
