Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with benazepril (Lotensin). This isn't about your blood pressure control or how your body processes the medicine. Instead, it's about your skin. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, natural compounds that can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Benazepril, on rare occasions, can do the same thing.

So the worry is an additive effect: put the two together and you may sunburn faster or react more strongly to UV light than you'd expect. Honestly, this is a theoretical concern based on how these chemicals behave, not something proven in studies. Still, if you take both, it's smart to use sunscreen and limit strong sun. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Benazepril — sold as Lotensin and under its generic names Benazepril and Benazepril Hydrochloride — is approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like stroke and heart attack.
