Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with quetiapine (Seroquel): this isn't a metabolism issue where one changes the level of the other in your blood. Instead, it's about your skin. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, which can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Quetiapine, on its own, can also occasionally make people more prone to sunburn. Put them together and that sun-sensitivity may stack up, so you could burn faster or break out in a rash with less sun than usual.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not strong patient studies, so don't panic. Still, if you take both, use good sun protection and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

About Quetiapine

What Is Quetiapine Used For?

Brand names: Seroquel, Dopaquel

Quetiapine treats schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in adults and certain age groups of children and adolescents. For bipolar disorder, it is approved for manic episodes (both as a stand-alone treatment and alongside lithium or divalproex) and for depressive episodes.

The extended-release form of quetiapine is also approved as add-on therapy for major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults who are already taking an antidepressant. The regular tablet form is not approved for this use.
