Here's the simple version: this isn't about how your body breaks down amoxapine. Instead, it's about your skin. Amoxapine can make you a little more sensitive to sunlight on its own, and masterwort contains plant chemicals called furanocoumarins that do the same thing. Put the two together and that sun-sensitivity may add up, so you could sunburn faster or break out in a rash with less sun than usual.

I'll be honest, this caution is mostly based on how these things work in theory rather than strong studies. Still, it's easy to play it safe. Use sunscreen, cover up outdoors, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding masterwort. Don't change your amoxapine on your own.

Amoxapine is used to treat symptoms of depression. This includes neurotic or reactive depression (depression triggered by life events), as well as endogenous depression (depression that arises from within, without a clear external cause) and psychotic depression.

It is also indicated for depression that comes with significant anxiety or agitation.
