Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.

In vitro research shows that a methanol extract of Padang cassia inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity. Theoretically, taking Padang cassia with CYP3A4 substrates might increase the effects and side effects of these substrates.

Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) is a long-acting shot, and your body partly clears the aripiprazole it releases using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest that concentrated Padang cassia (a type of cassia cinnamon) may slow that enzyme down a bit. In theory, slowing it could let more aripiprazole linger, which might nudge up side effects like drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, tremor, or feeling lightheaded when you stand.

Here's the honest part: this is based only on test-tube research, not real people, so it's a possible concern, not a proven one. Sprinkling cinnamon on your food won't matter. If you're thinking about regular cinnamon supplement capsules, just run it by your pharmacist or prescriber first.

Padang Cassia is a type of cinnamon (Indonesian or Korintje cinnamon) grown mainly in Indonesia and used widely as a kitchen spice. Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
