ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Glucose
Glucose falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Padang Cassia interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind: some studies suggest Padang cassia can gently lower blood sugar on its own. If you're being treated with glucose (for example, IV glucose or glucose tablets given to raise a low blood sugar), those two are pulling in opposite directions. In theory, cinnamon's sugar-lowering tendency could blunt how well glucose brings your levels back up, so a low could take a bit longer to correct.
The evidence here is modest and mostly about cinnamon's effect on blood sugar in general, not a strong, proven clash with glucose itself. Everyday kitchen amounts of cinnamon are very unlikely to matter. If you take concentrated cinnamon supplements and you also rely on glucose for low blood sugar, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.

By severity: 2 major · 215 moderate · 39 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Glucose page
“Glucose given by IV raises a dangerously low blood sugar, and this list warrants real caution because most of its 256 ingredients pull the other way. Nearly all of them lower blood sugar on their own, working against the treatment and setting up another crash.”

About Padang Cassia
What is Padang Cassia?
- Adding flavor to food
- Digestive upset
- Blood sugar support
- Antimicrobial purposes
- Antioxidant support
Padang Cassia is a type of cinnamon (Indonesian or Korintje cinnamon) grown mainly in Indonesia and used widely as a kitchen spice. As a supplement, evidence for health benefits like blood sugar control is limited and mixed, and like other cassia cinnamons it naturally contains coumarin, which can be harmful to the liver in large amounts. Use food amounts freely, but talk to a pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated cinnamon supplements.

Glucose Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Glucose as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Padang Cassia — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
