Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Tisotumab Vedotin-Tftv
Tisotumab Vedotin-Tftv falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Passion Flower interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that passion flower can induce CYP3A4 enzymes, albeit to a much lower degree than rifampin, a known CYP3A4 inducer.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture with Tivdak (tisotumab vedotin-tftv) and passion flower. This is an antibody-drug conjugate given by infusion in a cancer clinic. The lab note we have suggests passion flower might gently speed up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which in theory could lower levels of drugs that depend on it. If that mattered here, the worry would be a slightly weaker anti-cancer effect.
But this is very weak, theory-only evidence from test-tube studies, and the effect was far smaller than known enzyme boosters. For a serious medication like this, I wouldn't add passion flower on your own. Please run it by your oncology team or pharmacist first so nothing competes with your treatment.
