Buprenorphine/Naloxone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Pinellia Ternata interacts with.

Evidence from animal research shows that a Pinellia ternata preparation decreases activity and increases sleeping time. Theoretically, Pinellia ternata can potentiate the therapeutic effect of CNS depressants. Some of these medications include antihistamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, and others.

Here's the gist for Suboxone: the buprenorphine in it already has a calming, sedating side to it, and Pinellia ternata appears to add to that kind of effect. In animal studies, a Pinellia preparation made the animals less active and made them sleep longer. So the worry here is simply piling one sedating thing on top of another. With Suboxone, that could mean feeling more drowsy or foggy than usual, slower thinking, or breathing that's more suppressed than it should be.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. The evidence is only from lab and animal research, not people, so this is more of a theoretical heads-up than a proven problem. Buprenorphine isn't a prodrug, so the concern is added sedation, not a change in how it's activated. Still, please run it by your pharmacist or prescriber before combining them.
