Theoretically, Pinellia ternata can potentiate the therapeutic effect of CNS depressants. Some of these medications include antihistamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, and others.

Here's the gist: hydrocodone is a strong opioid pain reliever that already slows down your brain and breathing. In animal studies, a Pinellia ternata preparation made the animals less active and made them sleep longer, which suggests it has its own calming, sedating effect. Stacked on top of hydrocodone, that could add up and leave you extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or breathing more slowly than is safe.

I want to be honest about the evidence here. This is based on lab and animal data, not solid human studies, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven one. Still, with a powerful opioid I'd rather you be cautious. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't change your hydrocodone on your own.
