Quercetin + Indapamide
Indapamide brand names: Lozol, Lozide.
Quercetin has a moderate interaction with Indapamide. Theoretically, taking quercetin with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.

ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Indapamide
Indapamide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Quercetin interacts with.
Quercetin can modestly decrease blood pressure in people with mild hypertension. Theoretically, it might have additive blood pressure lowering effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist of pairing quercetin with your water pill indapamide. Quercetin isn't changing how your body breaks down indapamide. Instead, it may gently lower blood pressure on its own. When you stack that small effect on top of a medicine already working to bring your pressure down, the two can add up, and your blood pressure might dip a little lower than expected.
If that happens, you could feel dizzy, lightheaded, or a bit tired, especially when standing up quickly. The good news: this is mostly theoretical and based on fairly weak human studies, and food amounts of quercetin (apples, onions, berries) are unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplement doses are the bigger question. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding one.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Indapamide page
“A water pill like indapamide (Lozol) lowers blood pressure and pulls potassium down, and most of the 215 supplements and herbs on file press on those same levers. Thirteen entries rate major, so this is a list to read with real care rather than skim.”

About Quercetin
What is Quercetin?
- Seasonal allergies
- Antioxidant support
- Heart and blood pressure health
- Anti-inflammatory support
- Immune support
- Exercise recovery
Quercetin is a plant flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties found in many common foods and sold as a supplement. While early research is interesting for allergies, blood pressure, and inflammation, strong human evidence is limited for most uses. It is generally well tolerated in food amounts, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking high-dose supplements.
About Indapamide
What Is Indapamide Used For?
Brand names: Lozol, Lozide
Indapamide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either on their own or together with other blood pressure medications. Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of related complications.
Indapamide tablets are also used to treat salt and fluid retention (edema) associated with congestive heart failure. In certain cases, indapamide may also be appropriate during pregnancy when swelling is caused by a medical condition rather than normal pregnancy changes — but routine use in otherwise healthy pregnant women is not recommended.

Indapamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Indapamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Quercetin — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
