Trandolapril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Rhodiola interacts with.

Theoretically, taking rhodiola with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
In vitro and animal research shows that rhodiola extract inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and might lower blood pressure.

Here's the simple version: trandolapril already works by blocking an enzyme called ACE, which relaxes your blood vessels and brings your blood pressure down. Lab and animal studies hint that rhodiola may nudge in the same direction, gently blocking that same enzyme. Put the two together and, in theory, your blood pressure could drop a bit more than expected.

If that happened, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or a little woozy when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest, though: this is based only on test-tube and animal research, so it's a theoretical concern, not something proven in people. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding rhodiola, especially if your pressure already runs low.

Rhodiola is an herb traditionally used to fight fatigue and help the body cope with stress. What Is Trandolapril Used For?

Brand name: Mavik

Trandolapril tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used on their own or combined with other blood pressure medicines such as hydrochlorothiazide.

Trandolapril tablets are also used in stable patients who have reduced heart pumping function (left-ventricular systolic dysfunction) or heart failure that developed within the first few days after a heart attack. In Caucasian patients, trandolapril has been shown to lower the risk of cardiovascular death and reduce hospitalizations related to heart failure.
