Prevpac is the triple-therapy pack used to clear an H. pylori stomach infection. It combines lansoprazole (an acid reducer), amoxicillin and clarithromycin (two antibiotics). This isn't about how your body breaks the medicines down. The concern here is simply that both Sweet Annie and these drugs can occasionally stress the liver, so taking them together might add up and put a little extra strain on it.

I want to be straight with you: this is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, not solid studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a known problem. Still, if you notice yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, stop and call your doctor. Check with your pharmacist before pairing them.

Lansoprazole, Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.

Sweet Annie may alter plasma levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that the Sweet Annie constituent artemisinin induces CYP3A4, possibly increasing CYP3A4 activity by 1.9-fold. However, Sweet Annie extract seems to inhibit the activity of CYP3A4 in vitro, suggesting that other constituents of Sweet Annie play a role in its effects on the overall activity of this enzyme. More information is needed to determine whether taking Sweet Annie extract affects the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Prevpac is a combo pack used to wipe out H. pylori, the stomach bug behind many ulcers. The piece that matters here is clarithromycin, the antibiotic, which is handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Sweet Annie may nudge that same enzyme, so in theory it could shift how much clarithromycin stays in your blood.

Here's the honest part: the evidence is thin and conflicting. In lab dishes, one Sweet Annie compound seemed to speed the enzyme up (which could lower clarithromycin and weaken your treatment), while the whole extract seemed to slow it down. Nobody has shown this matters in real people. Since finishing a full H. pylori course is important, I'd just run Sweet Annie past your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.
