Trandolapril, Verapamil falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, taking tree turmeric along with antihypertensive drugs might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can have hypotensive effects. Also, a meta-analysis of clinical research suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine (Norvasc) can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with taking amlodipine alone.

Tarka combines two blood pressure medicines: trandolapril (which relaxes your blood vessels) and verapamil (which slows the heart and eases its workload). Tree turmeric, through its berberine content, may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. Put them together and the worry is simply additive: your pressure could drop a little more than expected.

If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or faint, especially when standing up quickly. Honestly, this is a theoretical concern based mostly on animal data and some early studies with other blood pressure drugs, so it's far from certain. Cooking amounts aren't the issue; concentrated berberine supplements are. Don't stop anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your home blood pressure readings.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs that are substrates of CYP3A4.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, moderately inhibits CYP3A4.

Tarka combines two medicines: verapamil, which your liver processes through a busy enzyme called CYP3A4, and trandolapril, a blood pressure pill that isn't affected much here. The berberine in tree turmeric appears to gently slow that CYP3A4 enzyme, so verapamil may not get cleared as fast and could build up in your system.

What might that look like? Things like dizziness, an unusually slow heartbeat, constipation, swollen ankles, or lightheadedness when you stand. The strongest evidence here is for berberine blocking the enzyme, while the effect on verapamil itself is more theoretical. I wouldn't panic, but since this affects your heart and blood pressure, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and don't change anything on your own.
