Vortioxetine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can inhibit CYP2D6.

Here's the gist: your body relies heavily on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break down and clear vortioxetine (Trintellix). The berberine in tree turmeric appears to slow that enzyme down. When CYP2D6 is blocked, vortioxetine doesn't get cleared as quickly, so more of it can build up in your system. Vortioxetine is an active drug (not a prodrug), so higher levels usually mean stronger effects and a greater chance of side effects like nausea, dizziness, headache, or that uncomfortable serotonin-related jitteriness.

To be fair, this is mostly theoretical and based on lab work plus some early, lower-quality human data, so it may not be dramatic. Still, before you pair tree turmeric with your antidepressant, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
