Azamune (azathioprine) is a medicine that calms an overactive immune system, often used after a transplant or for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease. One thing it's known for is putting some stress on the liver, which is why your doctor checks your liver enzymes with blood tests while you're on it.

Here's the concern with turmeric: in high doses, especially the concentrated, highly absorbable supplement forms, turmeric itself has been linked in a handful of case reports to liver irritation. So stacking it on top of Azamune could, in theory, add to that liver strain. This is anecdotal, not proven, and the small amount you use to season food is very unlikely to matter. Before starting a turmeric supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your liver labs.
