Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
TALINOLOL
Clinical research shows that taking curcumin for 6 days decreases the bioavailability of talinolol when taken together on the seventh day. The clinical significance of this effect is unclear.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the gist for Talinolol, a beta-blocker used for blood pressure and heart-related issues. Your body relies on a transporter called P-glycoprotein to move talinolol around, and curcumin (the active part of turmeric) seems to nudge that transporter in a way that lets less of the drug get absorbed. In one study, six days of curcumin lowered how much talinolol made it into the bloodstream.
Practically, that could mean talinolol works a little less than expected, so your blood pressure or heart rate control might not be as tight. The honest truth is the research is limited and the real-world impact is still unclear. Everyday turmeric in cooking is unlikely to matter; concentrated curcumin capsules are the bigger question. Before adding a supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Talinolol page
“Most of what talinolol does, slowing the heart and lowering blood pressure as a beta-blocker, is exactly what the supplements on this page can amplify or undo, so I would approach any combination here with genuine care. The largest share adds to its blood-pressure-lowering effect, risking dizziness, a slow pulse, or fainting, while a f…”

About Turmeric
What is Turmeric?
- Joint pain and arthritis
- Inflammation
- Digestive upset
- Antioxidant support
- Skin conditions
Turmeric is a popular spice whose main active compounds, curcuminoids, are studied mostly for inflammation and joint pain. Some research is promising, but quality is mixed and curcumin is poorly absorbed on its own. For most people, dietary amounts are safe, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated supplements, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a medical condition.

Talinolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Talinolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Turmeric — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
