Here's the simple version. Vedolizumab (Entyvio) is a biologic antibody that works in your gut, and it isn't broken down by liver enzymes the way many pills are. So turmeric won't really speed it up or slow it down. The concern here is different: it's about adding up potential stress on the liver. Some concentrated turmeric supplements, especially high-dose, highly absorbable formulas, have been linked in rare reports to liver irritation, and Entyvio can occasionally affect the liver too.

How worried should you be? Not very. This is mostly theoretical and based on scattered case reports, not strong studies. The turmeric you cook with is very unlikely to matter. If you take a strong curcumin supplement, just mention it to your doctor or pharmacist so they can keep an eye on your liver labs.

What Is Vedolizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Entyvio

Entyvio (vedolizumab) is used to treat adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis and moderately to severely active Crohn's disease — two forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that cause chronic inflammation in the digestive tract.

Both conditions are treated with Entyvio given as an intravenous (IV) infusion or, after initial IV doses, as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection.
