CardioRegain Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking CardioRegain against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of CardioRegain by LABO Nutrition
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
CardioRegain contains four active ingredients. Three of them are well established: astaxanthin (AstaReal), a red carotenoid antioxidant from algae; coenzyme Q10 (Kaneka QH), a naturally occurring compound involved in energy production in your cells; and krill oil (Superba2), a marine-derived source of omega-3 fatty acids.
The fourth ingredient is Pine Bark Extract, which we hold no interaction data for. The product is filled with olive oil and glycerol esters.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence for these ingredients varies widely. Coenzyme Q10 is rated Likely Effective for CoQ10 deficiency itself, and Possibly Effective for fibromyalgia, migraines, congestive heart failure, and diabetic nerve pain.
Krill oil is rated Possibly Effective for dry eye. Astaxanthin and the other proposed uses lack sufficient reliable evidence to rate them.
We hold no effectiveness data for Pine Bark Extract.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q10 is generally well tolerated; minor gastrointestinal side effects like nausea, diarrhea, or heartburn occur in less than 1% of people. Krill oil is also generally well tolerated up to 4 grams daily, though some people experience bloating, stomach discomfort, or fishy burps.
Astaxanthin is generally well tolerated, though higher doses have caused stomach pain and increased bowel movements in a small number of trial participants. Astaxanthin should be avoided during pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data.
Krill oil and coenzyme Q10 also lack enough safety data in pregnancy and breastfeeding—talk with your doctor before using them if you are pregnant or nursing. Krill oil should be avoided if you have a shellfish allergy.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking CardioRegain, double-check whether you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel—krill oil and coenzyme Q10 may affect their action. Blood pressure medications, diabetes drugs, chemotherapy (especially alkylating agents), and drugs metabolized through your liver's CYP3A4 or CYP2B6 pathways should also be reviewed with your pharmacist, as astaxanthin and coenzyme Q10 may alter their levels.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CardioRegain may be worth considering if you're interested in heart and eye health support and you don't take blood thinners, diabetes medications, or certain cancer drugs. If you take any prescription medication—especially warfarin, antihypertensive drugs, diabetes medications, or chemotherapy—check your specific drugs with the tool on this page before starting.

CardioRegain - Comprehensive heart health formula An unhealthy lifestyle, oxidative stress and the use of cholesterol-lowering statins deteriorate one's cardiovascular health. As the body's natural heart nutrients like Coenzyme Q10 and antioxidants reduce with age, the "malnourished" heart has to work harder to pump blood through stiff and clogged blood vessels. Over time, serious cardiovascular problems can arise. A 2-prong approach to (1) strengthen the heart and (2) reduce cholesterol oxidation and plaque build-up in the blood vessels, clears the path for good circulation while protecting the heat from overworking. Smart liposomal delivery improves absorption by up to 25 times
Supports healthy blood pressure, heart rate, blood circulation, energy and well-being Smart liposmal delivery Increases absorption of ubiquinol and protects it from destruction by enzymes, stomach acid and oxidation.

CardioRegain by LABO Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
CardioRegain by LABO Nutrition contains three ingredients we could check for interactions, and they do interact with medications.
The most serious concern is astaxanthin (AstaReal), which may decrease blood levels of drugs processed through two liver pathways: CYP3A4 and CYP2B6 substrates. These are Moderate-severity interactions that have been seen in lab studies but not yet reported in people taking the supplement.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Coenzyme Q10 (Kaneka QH) carries Moderate-severity concerns with blood thinners like warfarin—it may reduce their effectiveness—and with certain chemotherapy drugs (alkylating agents), where its antioxidant effect could theoretically shield cancer cells. It also has a Minor interaction with blood pressure medications, where it might add to their blood-lowering effect.
Krill oil (Superba2) presents Moderate risks with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (increased bleeding risk) and with diabetes medications (increased risk of low blood sugar).
We could not check Pine Bark Extract; no interaction data is on file for it. Altogether, these interactions span 982 individual medications.
Use the medication checker on this page to look up your specific drugs before starting.

For each ingredient in CardioRegain with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
AstaReal
Cytochrome P450 2B6 (Cyp2B6) Substrates
Theoretically, astaxanthin may decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2B6.
In vitro research shows that astaxanthin induces cytochrome CYP2B6 enzyme activity in human hepatocytes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, astaxanthin may decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that astaxanthin induces CYP3A4 enzyme activity in human hepatocytes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Pine Bark Extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, maritime pine bark extract might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Clinical research suggests that maritime pine bark extract inhibits platelet aggregation. However, the clinical significance of this effect is unclear.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, maritime pine bark extract might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.
One clinical study shows that maritime pine bark extract decreases blood sugar in patients with diabetes being treated with antidiabetes agents. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, maritime pine bark extract might decrease the effectiveness of immunosuppressant therapy.
In vitro and animal research suggests that maritime pine bark extract has immunostimulant activity. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Superba2
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, krill oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Taking high doses of omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil can modestly decrease platelet aggregation. Since krill oil also contains these fatty acids, taking high doses of krill oil might also inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, taking high doses of krill oil with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bleeding. However, the omega-3 content of krill oil is much lower than that of fish oil.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking krill oil with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some research in animals and humans shows that krill oil might lower blood glucose levels. However, a small study shows that taking krill oil does not reduce blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.
Kaneka QH
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
