Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This softgel contains two active ingredients. Coenzyme Q10 is a compound your body makes naturally and uses to produce energy in your cells; it also acts as an antioxidant.
Cinnamon is the dried bark of the cinnamon tree. The product also contains several inactive ingredients—rice bran oil, gelatin, vegetable glycerin, soy lecithin, and natural caramel color—which serve as the capsule and delivery system.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Coenzyme Q10 has solid evidence backing its use for CoQ10 deficiency. It's possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraines, congestive heart failure, and diabetic nerve pain.
Cinnamon's effectiveness is less established in our data — we hold insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for conditions like diabetes, high cholesterol, diarrhea, and several others. If you're taking this for a specific condition, talk with your pharmacist about what the evidence actually shows for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q10 is generally well tolerated by most adults. In clinical studies, no serious side effects were reported.
The most common ones—gastrointestinal effects like nausea, diarrhea, and heartburn—occur in less than 1% of people and can often be minimized by dividing doses over 100 mg throughout the day. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported rarely, as has skin itching or rash.
For cinnamon, the safety concern centers on coumarin, a compound in cassia cinnamon that can harm the liver at high doses over time; the doses used in clinical trials did not significantly raise liver enzymes. Food amounts of cinnamon are generally safe, but supplement doses should be avoided during pregnancy unless your doctor says otherwise.
There is not enough safety data on CoQ10 in pregnancy, so avoid it unless your doctor advises you to take it. Breastfeeding safety for both ingredients has not been well studied — check with your doctor before using.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your pharmacist if you take chemotherapy drugs (alkylating agents), warfarin or other blood thinners, diabetes medications, blood pressure medications, or any drugs that stress your liver. The interactions span 623 medications total, so your specific regimen matters — use the checker on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This combination may be worth considering if you have CoQ10 deficiency or are interested in the possibly effective uses of CoQ10 like migraines or heart health. Be very careful if you take blood thinners like warfarin, diabetes medications, blood pressure drugs, or chemotherapy — check your exact medications with our tool first.

Co-Q10 & Cinnamon by DC Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
DC's Co-Q10 & Cinnamon contains two active ingredients, each with documented interactions.
Coenzyme Q10's most serious interaction is with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (such as cyclophosphamide) — the antioxidant effect of CoQ10 may theoretically reduce how well these cancer medicines work by protecting tumor cells from the oxidative stress the drugs rely on to kill cancer.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ10 also interacts moderately with warfarin (a blood thinner used to prevent clots). CoQ10 is chemically similar to vitamin K and may have blood-clotting effects that could weaken warfarin's ability to keep your blood thin; a small number of cases suggest decreased warfarin effectiveness.
Minor concerns exist with blood pressure-lowering medications, since CoQ10 may add to their effect.
Cinnamon brings two additional moderate interactions: it may lower blood sugar levels and could have additive effects with diabetes medications, potentially requiring dose adjustments. Cinnamon also carries theoretical risk with hepatotoxic drugs (medications that can harm the liver), especially at high doses or over long periods, since cinnamon contains coumarin, which can damage liver tissue in animals and at very high doses in humans.
Altogether, these interactions span 623 individual medications. Run your exact medications through the checker below before starting this product.

For each ingredient in Co-Q10 & Cinnamon with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Cinnamon
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, cassia cinnamon may have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels, and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, large doses of cassia cinnamon might cause additive effects when used with hepatotoxic drugs.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
