Vincristine falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Baikal Skullcap interacts with.

Theoretically, Baikal skullcap might increase levels of drugs transported by P-glycoprotein.
In vitro and animal research suggests that baicalein, oroxylin A, and wogonin, constituents of Baikal skullcap, can inhibit P-glycoprotein. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Vincristine is a chemotherapy drug, and your body relies partly on a transporter called P-glycoprotein (think of it as a pump that moves the drug out of cells and helps clear it). In lab and animal studies, certain compounds in Baikal skullcap (baicalein, wogonin, and oroxylin A) seem to slow that pump down. In theory, that could let more vincristine linger in the body, which might mean stronger side effects like nerve tingling or numbness, constipation, or low blood counts.

The key word here is theoretical. This effect has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never confirmed in people. Still, because vincristine is potent chemotherapy, please don't add any supplement without first clearing it with your oncology team or pharmacist.

What Is Vincristine Injection Used For?

Vincristine Sulfate Injection is approved to treat acute leukemia. It is also used as part of combination chemotherapy regimens for Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas, rhabdomyosarcoma (a soft-tissue cancer), neuroblastoma (a cancer of nerve tissue), and Wilms' tumor (a kidney cancer in children).

Because it works best alongside other cancer medicines, vincristine is almost always given as part of a multi-drug treatment plan rather than on its own.
