Here's the simple version: your inhaler, Incruse Ellipta (umeclidinium), is itself an anticholinergic. It works by blocking acetylcholine in your airways to help them open up. Belladonna contains its own anticholinergic compounds, like atropine and scopolamine. So when you put the two together, you're essentially stacking the same type of effect on top of each other.

What that can look like in real life is more dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, trouble urinating, a faster heartbeat, or feeling overheated. This concern is based on how these compounds work rather than strong studies, but belladonna is genuinely risky on its own, so I'd steer clear of it. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Umeclidinium Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Incruse Ellipta

Umeclidinium Ellipta and Umeclidinium ELLIPTA (generic) are indicated for the maintenance treatment of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) in adults. This means it is used every day on a regular schedule to help keep airways open and reduce COPD symptoms over time.

This medication is not a rescue inhaler. It will not treat a sudden flare-up or acute bronchospasm. A separate short-acting inhaler is needed for those situations.
