Black Tea + Indapamide
Indapamide brand names: Lozol, Lozide.
Black Tea has a moderate interaction with Indapamide. Theoretically, using black tea with diuretic drugs might increase the risk of hypokalemia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
DIURETIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Indapamide
Indapamide falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Black Tea interacts with.
Black tea contains caffeine. Caffeine, especially in excessive amounts, can reduce potassium levels due to stimulation of the sodium-potassium pump. Diuretics can also cause lower potassium levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with indapamide and black tea. Indapamide is a water pill that already nudges your potassium downward as your body flushes out salt and fluid. The caffeine in black tea, mostly when you drink a lot of it, can push potassium in that same direction by revving up the pump that moves potassium into your cells. Stack the two and, in theory, your potassium could dip a bit lower than it would on the medicine alone.
I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not strong proof, and a normal cup or two with breakfast is unlikely to cause trouble. But low potassium can mean muscle cramps, weakness, tiredness, or an irregular heartbeat. If you drink large amounts of tea or feel any of those, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can check your levels.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Indapamide page
“A water pill like indapamide (Lozol) lowers blood pressure and pulls potassium down, and most of the 215 supplements and herbs on file press on those same levers. Thirteen entries rate major, so this is a list to read with real care rather than skim.”

About Black Tea
What is Black Tea?
- Mental alertness and energy
- Heart health support
- Blood pressure and cholesterol
- Digestive complaints
- Weight management
- Antioxidant support
Black tea is a popular caffeinated drink made from the fully oxidized leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, and it contains caffeine and antioxidant plant compounds. Moderate tea drinking is generally safe for most adults and may modestly support heart health and alertness, but it is not a proven treatment for any disease. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, sensitive to caffeine, or taking medicines, talk to your pharmacist or doctor.
About Indapamide
What Is Indapamide Used For?
Brand names: Lozol, Lozide
Indapamide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either on their own or together with other blood pressure medications. Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of related complications.
Indapamide tablets are also used to treat salt and fluid retention (edema) associated with congestive heart failure. In certain cases, indapamide may also be appropriate during pregnancy when swelling is caused by a medical condition rather than normal pregnancy changes — but routine use in otherwise healthy pregnant women is not recommended.

Indapamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Indapamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Black Tea — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
