Breadfruit + Fedratinib Hydrochloride
Fedratinib Hydrochloride brand name: Inrebic.
Breadfruit has a minor interaction with Fedratinib Hydrochloride. Theoretically, breadfruit might inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) and increase levels of drugs metabolized by these enzymes; until more is known, use with caution.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Fedratinib Hydrochloride
Fedratinib Hydrochloride falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Breadfruit interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include amitriptyline (Elavil), amiodarone (Cordarone), citalopram (Celexa), felodipine (Plendil), lansoprazole (Prevacid), ondansetron (Zofran), prednisone (Deltasone), sertraline (Zoloft), and many others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your Inrebic (fedratinib): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear this medication. Some lab and animal studies suggest a compound in breadfruit can mildly slow that same enzyme. In theory, that could let fedratinib build up a bit more than usual, which might mean stronger side effects like nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, or changes in your blood counts.
That said, I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It comes from test-tube and animal work, not people, and we don't know if it matters in real life. Eating breadfruit as a food is very unlikely to be an issue. Concentrated leaf teas or extracts are the bigger question mark. Since fedratinib is a serious cancer medicine, please run any breadfruit supplements past your oncology team or pharmacist first.

About Breadfruit
What is Breadfruit?
- Source of nutrition and energy
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes and blood sugar support
- Inflammation and joint discomfort
- Skin conditions
Breadfruit is a starchy tropical fruit eaten as a staple food, and its leaves are used in traditional medicine for conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. As a food it is nutritious and generally safe, but the medicinal use of leaf teas or extracts has very little human research to back it up. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using breadfruit products for a health condition.
About Fedratinib
What Is Fedratinib Used For?
Brand name: Inrebic
Inrebic (fedratinib) is approved to treat adult patients with intermediate-2 or high-risk myelofibrosis (MF) — a type of bone marrow cancer that disrupts normal blood cell production. This includes primary myelofibrosis as well as secondary myelofibrosis that developed after polycythemia vera or essential thrombocythemia.
It is used both in patients who have not been treated before and in those who have previously been treated with ruxolitinib, another myelofibrosis medication.
