Here's an interesting twist with Fiorinal with Codeine: this combination pill already contains caffeine, and one of its other ingredients is aspirin, which thins the blood and keeps platelets from clumping. Lab studies suggest caffeine itself may have a mild blood-thinning (antiplatelet) effect of its own. So in theory, adding more caffeine on top could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.

I want to be honest about how weak this signal is. This concern comes only from test-tube and animal research, and it has never actually been reported in real people. The aspirin in this medicine matters far more for bleeding than your coffee does. Still, if you notice easy bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach upset, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

Here is a fun twist with Fiorinal with Codeine: this combo pill already contains caffeine built right into it. So when you add a coffee, an energy drink, or a caffeine supplement on top, you are basically stacking caffeine on caffeine. The concern here isn't about how your body breaks the medicine down. It's simply additive stimulant effect.

In real life that can mean feeling jittery, a racing or pounding heart, trouble falling asleep, and feeling on edge or anxious. This is rated moderate and is based mostly on expert opinion, so it's more of a comfort-and-overdoing-it issue than a dangerous one for most people. A normal cup of coffee usually isn't a big deal, but loading up on extra caffeine while taking this is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.
