Here's a small but interesting one. The birth control pill you're taking (Demulen, Zovia, Kelnor) doesn't get changed by caffeine. It's the other way around. The estrogen in your pill can slow down how fast your body clears caffeine, by roughly 40 to 65 percent. So your usual coffee or tea may hang around longer and hit a little harder than it used to.

In plain terms, you might notice more jitteriness, a racing heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired from the same amount you always drank. Your pill itself keeps working fine. If you feel extra buzzed, simply easing back on caffeine usually does the trick. Nothing to worry about, but check with your pharmacist if it bothers you.
